The makers of ‘Ek Thi daayan’ released the first song- a romantic track titled ‘Yaraam’. The song features Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin, Huma Qureshi andKonkona Sen Sharma, and has many interesting moments.
The track opens with Emraan Hashmi, a magician asking Kalki Koechlin, “What do you do?” and Kalki replying “Aapse Ishq”. Immediately Emraan retorts, “Isliye mere hathon katil hona chahti ho”, and the whole auditorium breaks into laughter.
The song is composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, lyrics by Gulzar and the melodious number has been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan.
Kalki is seen strumming the guitar and crooning all the things she would do for her someone special. That someone special is doubtlessly Emraan Hashmi who is already in a relationship with Huma Qureshi. This is the first time Kalki Koechlin is lip-syncing for a song! About the experience Kalki said, “I play the guitar in real life, so it was fun for me to bring out my musical side with the song, ‘Yaarum’. I learned the chords and played them while singing. I had to focus on giving the expressions my director wanted, rather than looking down at the guitar. It took quite some co-ordination to get right. It was great fun.”
The lyrics (Gulzar saab) of the catchy track go “Hum cheez hai bade kaam ki yaaram, humein kaam pe rakh lo kabhi yaaram.”
Based on a real cult, Ek Thi Daayan, which is set to hit theaters on April 18th, is an entertaining romantic supernatural thriller with electrifying twists.
