No more surgeries required for Salman Khan

Bollywood actor Salman Khan will require no more surgical treatment for his nerve disorder – trigeminal neuralgia, as the doctors in the US have given him a clean chit post his routine check up. However, the actor will have to make one last visit for a follow-up and till then he will continue to remain on medication.
Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan informed the media, “This is a routine check-up, he might have to go again; every six months you see, but there is nothing to worry about. No more surgery, nothing.”
“They had to find out if there was any growth but thankfully there is none. They are satisfied with the progress of his health,” he added.
This check-up too was due much earlier, but the actors packed schedule prevented him from paying an early visit to the hospital.
Apparently, Salman Khan, who was in Dubai, flew to Los Angeles after wrapping up the first schedule of his upcoming flick Mental, which is slated for Eid release, this year.
It is heard that post his medical review in the US, Salman Khan also scouted for locales for his next flick Kick.
Salman will next head to Goa for the second schedule of Mental.

Hrithik Roshan:I still have flaws and stardom has no side-effects

Hrithik Roshan, who is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actors of India is the superstar who is handsome, best dancer of Bollywood, one of the brilliant actors and what not? He is for sure a complete actor Bollywood has ever had, but Hrithik says even he has some flaws and he also feels there are no side effects of being a star.
Hrithik Roshan who is all busy with many exciting projects told media recently that “There are no side effects of anything. If there is a negative feedback then it is just a feedback. There is no negative side-effect. We all have areas in our life which are not perfect and we can choose to sit and complain about that, “
I feel the best way to live is to not to have a camera facing you. It should be facing outwards and you should be watching the world and you should be seeing your reflection on other people. If they are smiling at you and they are happy that means you are doing good,” he added.
Hrithik Roshan after making his dream debut through Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai had to face some debacles for 5 years until Koi Mil gaya happened to him which brought him back on to the track and then there was no stopping Hrithik Roshan where he delivered blockbusters like “Jodha Akbar”, “Krrish” , “Dhoom-2”, “Zindagi Naa Milega Doobara”, “Agneepath”.
He is now all pumped up after success spree but yet humble said “My aim is to be able to make people around me feel as good as possible and basically give back all the goodness that I have felt. All the love that I have received is very powerful and the right use of this power is to give back and it is something that I have always had in my mind,”

When Katrina Kaif visited Ranbir Kapoor secretly

Despite their continuous denial, reports about the brewing romance between Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif continue to do rounds.
Recent reports state that on Sunday afternoon, the actress was seen walking out of Ranbir Kapoor’s home, looking all pleased and delighted. Few minutes later, the actor followed.
Kats is in Mumbai these days, busy training for her upcoming flick Dhoom 3 and also possibly a gig for the IPL opening ceremony.
Though the duo have always maintained to the world that they are “just friends”, it is quite evident that Kats and RK are very much an item. This is not the first time that either of them have been spotted walking out of each other’s homes. In the past too, Ranbir was clicked several times entering or exiting Katrina’s flat.
Meanwhile, buzz is that Katrina Kaif has been finalised to star opposite beau Ranbir Kapoor in Imtiaz Ali’s next. If true, this will be the third time Katrina and Ranbir will be seen on the screen together, their previous being Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Raajneeti.
As of now, the actress has her hands full with several projects this year.

Monday Bollywood Box office Report

Last friday, Aatma, Rangrezz and Sona Spa are the three movies that were released yesterday. Lets take a look at Bollywood box office in the last weekend.
All the films have not done nothing phenomenal  in their first weekend collections. Aatma emerged as a winner collecting over 5 crores, closing in is Jacky Bhagnani’s Rangrezz which collected just around 4 Crores. Sona Spa sank with out a trace. Aatma and Rangrezz got below average collections, mainly due to average response by the critics and mixed reactions from the public. Sona Spa though got decent reviews form the critics, due to the secluded release that it had and not getting released in many theaters was the reason being it being failure. Since Aatma has been made at relatively lesser budget than Rangrezz, the movie might break even at the end of the day, But for Rangrezz we can’t tell the same.
In the films which have released before this friday, Jolly LLB is declared as a hit and it has collected almost 25 Crores. 3G has lost the battle, it has only managed 6 Crores while “Mere Dad Ki Maruti” has collected just 8 Crores on the whole.
This week has been a little dull apart from Jolly LLB. The next week looks promising with “Himmatwala”. It is releasing without any competition.

Music Review : Himmatwala

Himmatwala is an upcoming movie starring Ajay Devgn, Tamanna and Paresh Rawal. It is a remake of 1983 hit Himmatwala which starred Jeetender and Sridevi. The movie is directed by Sajid Khan. It is produced by UTV motion pictures and Vashu Bhagnani. Akshay Kumar and Jeetendra are doing a cameo in this movie.
The music of the film is given by Bappi Lahiri and Sajid-Wajid. The album has 5 songs in total. One of the song is composed by music composers Sachin-Jigar.
 Songs :
‘The album starts off with iconic song “Nainon Mein Sapna” recreated by Sajid-Wajid. The song is almost like the original one with very few changes.  Shreya Ghosal and Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar have this song. The song is good but it is no where close to the original.
The next song is “Taki Taki”, sung by vocal super houses Mika Singh and Shreya Ghosal. It is loud, cheesy and fun song. It starts off very similar to “chinta ta chita” from Rowdy Rathore.  But again it holds its owm tune. This song also is recreated one from the original. This song pays a better hostage to the original than the first song.
Dhoka Dhoka is a true 80s song, it is kind of 80s item numbers and who better to sing than Sunidhi Chauhan and Mamta Sharma who have given us iconic Munni and Sheila. The Bhappi Lahari’s late entry in the song is very nice.
“Bum Pe Laat” is a sweet kiddish song. Shaan vocals complement the song really well. The background chorus by kids gives the feel to the song. It has got light music arrangements and frothy rhythm.
“Thank God Its Friday” is 80s retro song. Sachin-Jigar who composed the song have given a fitting tribute to the musicians of that era. Sunidhi Chauhan is reliably fun and gives the song that extra edge.
Bottom line : Overall the album is good but if you are not a fan of retro music then this is certainly not for you.

Item song to be re-shot in Shahrukh’s “Chennai Express”

Shahrukh Khan who never really acted in a proper masala flick which has become a trend of Bollywood since last 5 years has now finally acting in Chennai Express which is a pure masala flick with the elements like hero being in god mode, hot  item songs, cars and trucks flying in the air, etc  . But the item song in the movie has been rated ‘A’ by cbfc due to which Shahrukh Khan is re-shooting the song.
The song which starts south indian beauty Priyamani was apparently shot with lot of obscenity which eludes women in a bad manner which was absolutely not agreed by the censor beard and they have immediately given it an ‘A’.
However, Shahrukh Khan who never wants to lose family audience and children to watch his movies was ready to give up the masala stuff in the item song so that movie will get ‘U’ or’U/A’.Becasue of which the song will be re-shot without any obscene content against women but song will contain the cheesy south indian moves par with the catchy beats.
The song is being choreographed by Raju Sundaram who is the younger brother of director cum choreographer Prabhudeva. Raju SUnderam was never really interested in choreographing a Bollywood song but he agreed to that as the song has southern flavour in it which he would never resist to compose.

Kareena Kapoor’s gesture meant a lot to her fans

Bollywood actress Kareena Kapooris known to be an introvert and very often keeps to herself. But recently, the actress welcomed her fans with open arms and also treated them to delicious food. Well, all thanks to Kareena’s personal hairstylist and friend, Pompy Hans.
Kareena Kapoor and Pompy Hans have been together for 4 years now.
So what exactly happened was, during the shoot of one of Bebo’s films, Pompy spotted these fans waiting to meet the actress from the past 2 days. Being the generous man that he usually is, Pompy invited them over to Kareena’s vanity van to spend some time with her, without her knowledge.
Interestingly, Kareena welcomed the fans graciously like they were Pompy’s personal guests.
Says a source, “When the guests came in, she was not too comfortable as they were unknown to her. But after some time, she let her guard down. She was seen laughing all the way, and had a long chat with them as well.”
It is heard that the actress even ordered for some lip smacking delicacies for her guests, making sure they were comfortable and treated well.
This kind gesture meant a lot to the fans and finally they left thanking Bebo, generously.

Katrina Kaif is the highest tax payer in actresses

While Amitabh Bachchan was the highest tax payer from the actors side, it none other than Katrina Kaifwho tops the list from the actresses side. She recently became highest paid actress in Bollywood and has been the busiest in these days. Be it endorsements, be it Blockbusters, this girl has got it all.
“She has paid advance tax of a whopping Rs. 4.5 crore this year. Last fiscal year, she had two blockbusters— Ek Tha Tiger (2012) with Salman and late filmmaker Yash Chopra’s last directorial venture Jab Tak Hai Jaan with Shah Rukh Khan. Both of them are in the 100 Crore Club. So there is no surprise that she has reigned this year.” said a source closse to the actress.
Coming second to Katrina is  none other than Kareeena Kapoor, she paid around 4 Crore rupees towards tax. Paying advance tax has become a recent trend. It has become to measure a star’s status. But we can’t help but notice the difference between the male and female actors. While Amitabh Bachchcan paid around 25 Crore, while Katrina just paid 4.5 Crores, which is less than a quarter.
When contacted, Katrina confirmed the news. “Paying regular taxes is the right thing to do. It just enables the smooth functioning of the state and (once the taxes are done) actors like us can continue with our job of entertaining our fans,” says the actor.

Sohail Khan has chose to stay mum about his upcoming filmMental which stars the box office king and brother Salman Khan. The shooting of Mental has already begun, but Sohail doesn’t want to reveal anything about the film.
Buzz is that Sohail had to skip the anniversary celebrations of his wife’s spa as he wanted to avoid answering queries about his upcoming film.
“Sohail and Arbaaz were supposed to come for the event. But to avoid questions on his upcoming film (Mental) starring Salman, he decided against coming. He doesn’t want to speak on anything about the film right now,” a source is quoted as saying by a tabloid.
The first schedule of Mental recently came to an end in Dubai. Salman Khan starrer Mental has been in news ever since it was announced. Everyone was curious to know about the female lead, the story and other details. But Sohail, who has made a come back to direction after a long gap of seven years is not keen on divulging much about the film, especially at its nascent stage.
So was Seema, Sohail’s wife upset about her hubby’s absence on her big day??
Well, not at all! Seema, being an understanding wife, was fine with the hubby’s decision to skip the anniversary celebration of her spa.

‘Ishkq In Paris’ is no.1 on Preity Zinta’s priority list

Preity Zinta has not cut herself away from her debut production ‘Ishkq In Paris’. The actress is still committed to the film, and has denied all useless rumors.
Director Prem Raj’s Ishkq in Paris came to a halt when he fell seriously ill and had to leave for London for remedial surgery. Says an emotional Prem: “That is so hurtful, mean and damaging. ‘Ishkq In Paris’ is as much Preity’s baby as mine. She is very much in touch with me. We’ve no problems with one another at all. This story is very saddening.”
However, seems like all is well now, with the director completely healed from his sickness. Prem recently returned to Mumbai and was shocked on hearing stories about Preity being faced with interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate.
The film is salted for May release this year. Initially, the Parisian love story was to hit theaters on the same day as that of Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish, in September 2012.
Shunning away all rumors, the film’s post-production work is almost over.
Says Prem: “I am now in Mumbai. Preity seems to be working on the film’s release date. I think most probably it’s going to release in May.”
Ishkq in Paris stars Preity Zinta, Rhehan Malliek and French actress Isabelle Adjani.

Ranbir Kapoor dropped out of Mira Nair’s international project

Ranbir Kapoor, who has evolved as an outstanding actor over the course of last 3 years especially through his movies “Rockstar”, “Raajneeti” and “Barfi” but he was abruptly dropped from an international venture “The Reluctant Fundamentalist”which is being directed by Indo-American director Mira Nair.
However, Mira Nair said she dropped Ranbir Kapoor because she wanted an experienced actor who has travelled worked and worked in lot of intense movies.
Mira Nair who was interviewed recently told “I did speak to Ranbir Kapoor for ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’. He is a wonderful boy, a great actor. He can do anything. But I needed someone who has actually lived in different parts of the world. I needed worldliness.”
After dropping Ranbir Kapoor, Mira Nair did find the right person pretty soon as She roped actor Riz Ahmed for the lead role in “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” which is based on the novel written by Pakistani author Mohsin Hamid.
Mira Nair made lot of critically acclaimed movies such as “Salaam Bombay” , “Monsoon Wedding”, “The Namesake” and launched actors like Irrfan Khan. Her movie “Salaam Bombay” was also nominated for Oscar Award.
Ranbir kapoor must be very unlucky to loose the role in “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” which also stars Hollywood actors Kate Hudson, Live Schirber and Kiefer Sutherland.

Sonakshi Sinha is the new moonwalker ?

Sonakshi Sinha seems to have found new passion in dancing. She left all of us in awe when she matched step to step with India’s best dancer “Prabhu Deva” in the movie “OMG: Oh my God!” .
She turned into a item girl for the movie “Himmatwala” with the song “Thank God its Friday”. And for this song , Sonakshi Sinha learnt the famous “Moonwalk” step of Legendary singer/dancer Micheal Jackson. Incidentally this step was shown by director Sajid Khan.
Our sources say “Sajid Khan, himself got on the dance floor to teach Sonakshi the ‘Moonwalk’. He saw that the way Sonakshi is doing the step was a little different than how it should be, So he went on the dance floor and he decided to have some fun on the dance floor and also teach Sonaksh. Actually Sajid himself is a great dancer and during his college days, he performed this Moonwalk step in lots of dance competitions.
It seems that genes of her sister and star choreographer Farah Khan has rubbed on to Sajid khan. When we asked he said ” The song has a retro feel to it, that is why i decided to include the famous step of that era. Sonakshi is a fabulous dancer and she showed it in the song. I was barely of help”.

Harsh comments don’t bother Abhishek Bachchan

Bollywood hero, Abhishek Bachchan often communicates with his fan and followers through social networking sites and believes that being a celebrity, he is always ready for both appreciation and criticism on the web space. He often tweets
and interacts with his fans.
In a recent interaction with media while he was inaugurating the country’s first Social Media Lab for the Mumbai police, he said “Twitter is a public platform and people have the right to express themselves on it freely. If I am on Twitter, then I feel that I am willing to listen to whatever is there in the public domain,”. He further said “If somebody writes an objectionable tweet, then I can block or unfollow the person. That is my decision! Being a public figure, you get a lot of positive and negative tweets. It doesn’t bother me,”.
The Social Media Lab will have a team of 20 police officers who will research on the kind of topics and discussions that take place on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan is currently busy shooting for Dhoom 3: Back in Action, Happy New Year and Dostana 2. Apart from his bust schedule, Abhishek Bachchan along with Ranbir Kapoor is all set to play a football match against the Indian cricket team. The match is titled as ‘Playing for Humanity’ and will be managed by GS Entertainment and All Stars Football Club (ASFC).

Music Verdict Aatma : Average

Aatma is a psychological thriller which has nawasuddin siddique and Bipasha Basu playing the lead roles. It is directed by Suparn Verma. The music of the movie is given by Sangeet Haldipur and Sanjeev Haldipur.
Songs :
The album starts off with Aaja Nindiya, sung by Sangeet Haldipur. It has a very contemporary feel to it. But the song somewhat feels little incomplete to me.
After this, we have Teri Khatir, which has been performed by Suraj Jagan. It has heavy metal music track.Combined with Suraj’s voice makes the song even better. I definitely recommend that you give it a listen.
Next is Jee Le Jyada, sung by Alyssa Mendonsa, Anusha Mani, Shefali Alvares and Apeksha Dandekar. This is a pop song, which will appeal more to youngsters. For the adults, there is a second version of this song which has been sung by Nikhil Paul George. Though that ‘pop’ element is still there, it has got a mature feel to it.
Next is an instrumental titled The Aatma – Theme. It contains the use of various instruments, with the violin dominating most of the composition. This song has got a sad soulful touch to it, but still the song seems boring.
Finally, we have Koi Jaagi Aankhein, which has been performed by Anahita Irani. The singer’s voice  is very unique and different. It is one of the usp of the song added to jazzy tune of the song. It is one of my favourite tracks in the album and is a must hear.
Bottomline :
Aatma overall is an average album apart from ‘Teri Khatir’ and ‘Koi Jaagi Aankhein’, there is nothing new and out of the box for a listener to expect.

Kangana Ranaut’s film journey

Kangana Ranaut is celebrating her birthday today on March 20. Born in 1987, this talented young actress will turn 26 this year. After a series of flops like Tezz, Miley na Miley hum, Rascals, etc, this year looks very promising with she having 6 superb movies releasing this year. So how did a girl from small town in mountains of Himachal be one of the most promising young talents of our country? Lets look at Kangana’s journey.
Kangana Ranaut was born in a small town called Bambla, Himachal Pradesh. Since her childhood she was a person who had high aspirations. She moved to Delhi to fulfill her aspirations, and joined a modelling agency. Here  she became interested in acting and joined a theatre group. She underwent training under by eminent theatre director Arvind Gaur.
Later she moved to Mumbai to try her luck in movies. But she did not get any break until Anurag Basu saw her at a cafe and offered her to play a part in his movie “Gangster”. She lapped this opprtunity with both hands and did so well that she ended up winning Filmfare best debut actress that year.
Even though she made big impact on the silver screen, given her unconventional looks, she still had to struggle as a new comer. But her next big role was in the movie Fashion for which she won National award for Best Supporting Role. From then on she went on to act in acclaimed films like “Once upon time in Mumbai” and “Raaz-2″. but yet again she was mostly typecasted as a wild girl who has no care for the world. But yet again she made a blast with her comical yet amusing performance in “Tanu Weds Manu”. After that all the movies she did were not worthy of mentioning. She had only 1 film releasing last year.
But this year look very promising as she has a total of 6 movies releasing this year. And the best part is that all the movies are totally different from each other. One one hand she has commercial films like I Love NY and Krrish 3 and one other she has movies like Shootout at Wadala, Rajjo, Revolver Rani and her much awaited de-glam avatar in Queen.
We wish this talented actress a big ” HAPPY BIRTHDAY” and all the best for her future endeavors.

Akshay Kumar has out done Shahrukh and Salman

Akshay Kumar is once again leading the race. He has once again been declared the highest tax-payer in Bollywood by the Income Tax department. He is rumoured to have paid 20 crores of tax in 2012. He has been in the lead since 2009.
Next in line among the male actors are Salman Khan and Badashah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan. Among the actresses Katrina Kaif is rumoured to be in the lead closely followed by Nawab-y wife Kareena Kapoor and Piggy Chops.
Akshay Kumar has had a series of hits this year like ‘Khiladi 786′, ‘Housefull2′, ‘Rowdy Rathore‘ and‘Oh My God’. His latest movieSpecial Chabbis was also declared as a super hit. He will next be seen in movies like Naam Hai Boss, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai 2 and Ramanna.
Sallu bhai comes second and has paid 11 crores while Shahrukh is rumoured to have paid 10.5 crores and Aamir Khan has paid 7.5 crores. Bollywood beauties like Katrina Kaif on the other hand are believed to have paid the highest tax of Rs 4.5 crore and Kareena Kapoor is said to have paid Rs 4 crore.
With many actors and actresses joining the 100 crore club it doesn’t come as a surprise that they are paying so much tax.

Rani Mukherjee – A career blended with classics and debacles

Rani Mukherjee is known as one of the finest actresses in Bollywood over the course of last decade. She almost acted with all the major stars of Bollywood right fromAmitabh Bachchan to youngRanbir Kapoor and donned diverse roles as actress and entertainer.
Rani made her debut as child artist in the Bengali movie Biyer Phoolin 1992 where she played the supporting role. And then she took a long break in order to concentrate on studies and made her Bollywood debut as a lead actress in the movie “Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat(1997)” in which she portrayed the role of a rape victim who marries the person who raped her, the movie earned her lot of critical acclaims for her acting but failed commercially and critically as movie.
After the movie’s failure Rani Mukherjee got back to her studies and finished her graduation, she did not want to choose the Bollywood path but seeing the success of her cousin Kajol, she could not resist to get back to the big screen. She then got a rare opportunity to act opposite Aamir Khan in Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Ghulam’ which was a successful venture and especially the song ‘Aati Kya Khandala’ became a chart-buster and made Rani highly noticeable. Before even ‘Ghulam’ was released Rani got an offer from Karan Johar to act in a supporting role in the movie “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” after Karan saw Rani’s performance in ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baat’. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai became a huge hit and got Rani Mukherjee lot of major offers among which only Mehendi(1999) and Hello Brother(1999) were successful and then followed lot of unsuccessful movies like Bichhoo , Badal , Had Kar Di Aapne , Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega.
She then became a bit choosy about films and did a controversial movie ‘Hey Ram’ which is based on Gandhi’s assassination which was India’s official entry to Oscars in the year 2000. The movie also earned her the nomination for best actress film fare, and then she acted in mediocre movies like Abbas Mustan’s ‘Chori Chori Chupke Chupke’, Bas Itna Sa Khawab Hai opposite Abhishek Bachchan, Nayak: The Real Hero with Anil Kapoor which made her a very busy actress but she was never in the top league.
Then came a new page of Rani Mukherjee when she acted in ‘Muje Dosti Karogi’ which was produced by yash Raj Films. Even though movie was a flop in India it worked well overseas and later she did a lot of movies under Yash Raj Films banner. She then got an offer to play lead role in Shaad Ali’s “Saathiya” in 2002 which was a remake of Mani Ratnam’s tamil classic “Alaipuyuthey”, ‘Saathiya’ earned lot of prasies for Rani Mukherjee and won her Film Fare best actress award. Movie was also a commercial success and can be interpreted as Rani Mukherjee’s huge turning point.
After ‘Saathiya’ there was no stopping Rani Mukherjee, she acted in movies likeYuva which won her Film Fare best supporting actress award and then came the blockbuster ‘Hum Tum’ in the year 2005 which earned her numerous accolades and got her into the league of top actresses in Bollywood.
Post ‘Hum Tum’ was the best period of Rani Mukherjee’s career as she acted in lot of successful movies like Veer-Zaara(2004),Bunty Aur Babli(2005) , Khabi Alvida Naa Kehna(2006) which were commercially and critically successful but her best performance till date came in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Black(2005)”in which she acted as a blind and deaf person along with legendary Amitabh Bachchan. Rani Mukherjee was praised by all the critics unanimously and she earned loads of awards for it.
Rani Mukherjee’s aura did not last long as she faced lot of debacles after 2005. She got some decent offers but most of them did not make their mark either commercially or critically. Even though she acted in lot of yash Raj Films like Ta Ra Rum Pum , Laaga Chudari Mein Daag, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Dil Bole hadippa nothing have worked at all and gradually resulted in downfall fall of Rani Mukherjee as a top most actress of Bollywood.
She then started to act in the acting oriented movies like ‘No One Killed Jessica‘ and ‘Talaash‘ which earned her good marks and she also won the Film Fare best supporting actress award for her role In ‘No One Killed Jessica’.
And now she again became very selective about picking movies, as of now she is only acting in ‘Bombay Talkies‘ which is based on a series of short films.
On the occasion of her 35th birthday Bollywood Celebden appreciates the brilliant work that Rani Mukherjee has done for the Bollywood since last 15 years, hope she continues to entertain us for lot more years to come and win lot more awards.
Wish you a very Happy Birthday Rani !

Aamir Khan – As a responsible Indian citizen

Aamir Khan popularly known as the “Mr.Pefect” of Bollywood because of his flawless performances over the years and blockbusters that he delivered as an actor, producer, writer and director. He excelled in each every department and became a true legend of Bollywood.
He made movies of diverse concepts, be it a slap stick comedy like ‘Andaaz Apna Apna’or an intense cop thriller like‘sarfarosh’ or a biopic like‘Lagaan’ he contributed to Indian cinema immensely. He earned lot of praises from eminent people around the world and in India by making lot of movies that promote national Integrity and he as a patriot always wanted to show audience the greatness of our nation and also the flaws in our system.
On the occasion of his 48th birthday Bollywood Celebden pays him homage by recalling some of his masterpieces which he made as a responsible Indian citizen.

1.Lagaan

Lagaan is the movie that has broken all the stereotypes in Indian cinema. The movie is based in 1893 when British were ruling India, it’s about the group of villagers who will play a cricket match against the professional British players and win it in turn cancelling the taxes on their crops. When Ahutosh Gowariker wrote the script he struggled to find the support from filmmakers as they were not willing to produce the film wanting either budget cuts or changes in the script. Ashutosh first approached Sharukh Khan for the movie who also rejected him and then destiny finally took him to Aamir Khan who after listening to Ashutosh’s narration he not only agreed to act in the movie he also agreed to produce it by starting his own production company. The movie became 3rd ever Indian movie to be nominated for an Oscar Award.

2.Mangal Pandey-The Rising

The movie based on “The Sepoy Mutiny” which took place in 1857. Aamir khan plays the role of mangal Pandey who was the sepoy who led to the uprising of rebellion against the British. The movie did not fare well at the box-office but it received positive response from lot of critics. Movie was also involved in lot of controversies with some of the politicians demanding the ban of the film for the improper portrayal of Mangal Pandey’s role.

3.Rang De Basanti

Rang de basanti was truly a sensation at that time. RDB is about a group of 5 friends who are oblivious and irresponsible about the country realise their responsibility after their best friend who is an air force pilot dies due to the irresponsibility & carelessness of Indian government, the movie concludes with these 5 friends delivering a strong message to the nation about how flawed our system is. The Movie did not have any hype whatsoever considering Aamir Khan lacking a hit movie since 5 years and Rakesh Omprakash Mehra being an unknown person, but the movie became a blockbuster with acclaims all over from the critics, audiences, industry, etc. It then became a very popular movie within the youth and also is one of the most influential movies of India.
Wish you a very Happy Birthday Aamir ! Hope you continue inspiring Indian citizens with your exceptional movies in the future too.

The filmmaker’s debut film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ had Salman Khan in a cameo appearance. There after, the superstar did not feature in any of Karan’s films.

Jolly LLB review : Satire at its best

Film : Jolly LLB
Bollywood Celebden Rating: 3.5/5
Cast : Arshad Warsi, Amrita Rao and Boman Irani
Music: Krsna
Direction: Subhash Kapoor
Story :The story is about a small time lawyer Jolly (Arshad Warsi) in meerut who decides to come to Delhi to better his career. Once he comes to the big city, he finds ladder to his success and glory by deciding to fight against a big lawyer(boman irani) in a hit and run case . In the process of finding success, he realizes that there is more to success and money and that is fighting for the truth and helping the victims
Performances :
Subhash Kapoor has brought together the best of the actors to do this film. Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani who are unquestionable when it comes to comedy are equally good when it comes to serious parts of the movie. Amrita Rao does good job in the time that she is given. However the star performer of the movie is veteran Saurabh Shukla, he easily fits into the role of calm know it all judge perfectly. Other actors do their bit well.
Technical aspect :
Director Subhash Kapoor continues the sarcastic way of telling the story, same as his last movie ” Phas gaya re Obama”. The movie mainly relies on the simplicity of story and its characters. The story shows a  lot of funny things that happen in a court house like a judge is below to a lawyer who is super rich, police positioned are auctioned, etc. Dialogues in the movie are also very good, for example “Gareeb logon ke liye insaaf bahut mehenga hai saab”. The first half of the film is all about building up the characters and it is perfectly set to clash them against each other in an intense drama filled finale.  The whole movie is shot very naturally. But sadly the dampener here is the music, which is out of sync for most part of the time. Background score also fails to impress.
Analysis :
The first half of the movie takes a lot of time to build characters, if the makers could have tightened the screenplay a little then the movie is surely a winner. Overall Jolly LLB is a delight to watch because of the beautiful performances put up by the actors and witty dialogues added to it. But the thing that makes it even more watchable is the honesty the movie is made with.  Definitely worth a watch
Bottomline: Satire at its best.

Source close to the team revealed:“Emraan will go bare body for one of the scenes in the film. He has been maintaining himself really well to take his shirt off for the scene.”
“In ‘Ghanchakkar’, he will show his agile self in several scenes,” the source added.
Well, this is not the first time for Emraan to show off his hot bod. Murder 2 also saw him exposing his six-pack abs.
Says a source, “In Ghanchakkar, he will show his fit body in several scenes. Apparently there is a sequence in which Emraan also exhibits his fit-bod and has done some of his own stunts inside a moving train. Now that reminds us ofSalman Khan, who always drops off his shirt at least once in a film, and also has serious action scenes in all his films.”
The 33-year-old is known for locking lips with his co-stars in almost all his films including “Murder” and “Zeher”.
