Why doesn’t Aamir Khan attend popular award functions?

Aamir khan is definitely one of the Bollywood’s actors with exceptional charisma in terms of spinning the money at the box-office. But never to forget he is also an outstanding actor who always encourages versatile & art movies which give a lot of scope to true acting.
He won lot of awards and accolades but Aamir Khan never attends any award function whatsoever and he states that popular film awards like Filmfare, IIFA, etc are not credible and genuine because they always give away awards based on the popularity but not on talent. He trusts and believes only National Film Awards which he feels are the Indian Oscars.
But why do you think Aamir Khan feels that popular film awards not genuine? Well, Bollywood Celebden is now going to take you through some of the notable incidents which changed Aamir Khan’s perspective towards the popular film awards.
1.Aamir Khan’s first bitter experience came during 44th Film Fare awards when he lost the best actor award to Jackie Shroff in ‘Parinda’. Aamir Khan was nominated for the best actor for his outstanding performance in ‘Raakh’ which also earned him a National Film Award of Special Jury and he was also praised by lot of renown critics but lost Film Fare to Jackie Shroff because ‘Parinda’ was a huge hit that year but ‘Raakh’ did not do that well.
2.Till date Aamir Khan’s performance as a police officer in Sarfarosh is known as one of the most influential characters and lot of critics feel Aamir Khan has shown new dimension of action movies in India by imbibing the realistic feature and intense acting performances. But he never won an award for his performance in ‘Sarfarosh’ which made him feel even more skeptical about the popular film awards.
3.Another disappointment came for him in 2006 where he received lot of acclaims for his character in ‘Rang De Basanti‘ but did not even receive single award for it, which shows how immature the juries of these awards are.
4.The most famous incident happened in 2009 when Aamir Khan did not win any award whatsoever for his terrific performance in ‘Ghajini’ and that time Akshay Kumar who won Screen Award best actor for Singh is King had refused to accept the award and instead virtually presented it to Aamir Khan because he felt Aamir deserved the award for his performance in ‘Ghajni’.
