Om Shati Om, which was the highest grossing Indian movie in 2007 staring Shahrukh Khan andDeepika Padukone is now all set to release in Japan. OSO will be the second Bollywood movie to release in Japan after Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. The movie will be subtitled in Japanese but not dubbed and will be released across 15 screens making it biggest ever Indian release in Japan.
This tradition of releasing movie in Japan was started by Rajinikanth in the year 1997 with his superhit movie ‘ Mutthu’ and after its super success all the Rajinikanth movies are dubbed into Japanese and were released over there.
And now ‘Om Shanti Om’ will be the 3rd Indian movie to be released in Japan. Movie’s title is ‘Koi Suru Rinne’ where Suru Rinne means fall in love and Rinne means reincarnation. The movie’s grand premier will be happening in Tokyo, Japan, Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan will be attending it.
Confirming the news, Kumar Ahuja, senior VP, business development, Eros International said: “Shahrukh Khan enjoys cult fan following overseas, including in Japan and the fabulous showcasing planned for the film there reasserts his global appeal. We are constantly looking at opening new markets for Bollywood films worldwide and are confident “Om Shanti Om” will be very well received on its release in Japan”.
