First Look: Shaadi ke side effects

After giving a hilarious film of tom and jerry love affair with “Pyaar ke side effects” back in 2006, Pritish Nandy is back with the sequel “Shaadi Ke side effects”. Reprising the roles of Trisha and Sid are Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar. The film will look into the lives of Trisha and Sid after they get married.
Shaadi Ke Side Effects begins where Pyaar Ke Side Effects ends. Except the lead pair, everyone including director Saket Choudhary and music director Pritam remain. SKSE is a funny, clever, wild film full of the fascinating ways love works before and after marriage. PKSE had four songs that became very popular, and the story had very strong connectivity with the audience, so we decided to make a sequel. Unfortunately, it a took a while in writing. Saket is a brilliant director but a slow writer!” says Pritish Nandy, the producer of the film.
Vidya who gained a lot of weight for her performances in ‘ The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Kahaani’ had to loose a lot of weight for this movie as she had to look compatible with Farhan Akthar who is very slim. Pritish Nandy said about the unexpected casting, “We make cinema that is big and also intelligent. Farhan is one of the most intelligent actors today. He and Vidya are two of the biggest stars for last couple of years. It will instantly make my film topical. Both of them loved the script immediately.”
Here is the first look from the movie.

Shahrukh Khan and Rohit Shetty to do two more films together?

Shahrukh Khan who is shooting forRohit Shetty’s next “Chennai Express” might do more films with comic-action director. With their bonding being quite noticeable these days. And it all the friendship might reflect in two more movies from this combination.
It is come to our notice that this actor-director jodi may not be restricted to just CHENNAI EXPRESS. According to  that few sources, the news is  that Rohit 100 crore Shetty has two scripts ready with him that has caught SRK’s attention. If all goes well, we may see the duo working together again on not just one but two more projects.
Considering how successful Rohit has become over the years and how much publicity “Chennai Express” and their combination has gained. “Chennai Express” story is about this man’s travel from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens during the journey. There is a lot of romance keeping Shah Rukh in mind but it will also be a typical Rohit Shetty film with cars blowing and lots of action. It hasDeepika Padukone playing the female lead in the flick which is going to release in August of this year.
All we hope is that Rohit doesn’t forget the person who put him in the top league,Ajay Devgn in the process of making films with his new found buddy.

Sonam Kapoor to don bikini for YRF’s next!

Sonam Kapoor is all set to don the bikini avatar in Yash Raj Film’s next. Fashion icon Sonam agreed to shed her inhibitions and wear the bikini for a sequence in the film which would be similar to Kareena Kapoor’s in Tashan. We hear that Sonam has hit the gym to get into shape for the scene.
According to reports, the 27-year-old has given a nod to slip into a two piece. However, it should not be a big apprehension as Sonam Kapoor has a stunning figure which would only be highlighted by being clad in a bikini.
The Yash Raj banner has for years been associated with portraying actresses in never-seen-before avatars and looks like in Sonam’s case they are following suit. Also, it is a point to note that actresses, who had inhibitions in regard to a bikini have shed all doubts and gone ahead with it.
It started with Zeenat Aman in the 1980 film Dostana. Then Juhi Chawla inDeewana Mastana followed by Esha Deol in Dhoom. Anushka Sharma too had sported a two-piece in Ladies v/s Ricky BahlBadmaash Company and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. We cannot forget Kareena Kapoor flaunting her size zero in Tashan.
Let’s hope Sonam’s bikini act becomes as memorable as had all these films. Also, we wish Papa Anil Kapoor has no objections to his beti getting into this new avatar.

The film which is to be directed byPrabhu Deva whose last venture Rowdy Rathore was a runaway hit, has Shruti Haasan playing the female lead. According to sources, producer Kumar Taurani is making sure he leaves no stone unturned to launch his son and make it a successful one.
Considering that another Bollywood producer, Vashu Bhagnani has acquired rights of the famous song Gangnam Style for his son Jacky Bhagnani’s film Rangrezz, Taurani decided to get the sensuous Jackky for Girish.
Though Jacqeine has many dance numbers in her kitty, all of them are in movies where she is playing a crucial part. Talking of the item song in Ramaiya Vastavaiya, it is learnt that the song has been titled Jaadu Ki Jhappi De De Tu Abhi and it is to be picturized on her as well as Girish. It could also be possible that Prabhu Deva could join the two for a special tadka! Manish
Manish Mahotra has done the styling for Jacqueline while Girish will be styled by his sister Jaya.
We hear that director Prabhu Deva has asked the hottie to put on some weight for the song as this one is going to show Jacqueline in a new avatar! This is going to be her second item number. She had earlier grooved to the song Dhanno inSajid Khan’s Housefull.
Only time will tell us if the item number is going to sizzle or fizzle!

Psychological thriller 3G, a first of its kind has been mostly shot in Fiji. The movie which stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan had its first song Kaise Bataoon launched recently. The entire song we hear was entirely shot in Mana Island. However, an unexpected situation hit the cast and crew during the shooting – a storm.
Producer Viki Rajani said, “After completing the shooting, as everyone got ready to return to the main island, a storm hit the sea. Big waves started hitting the boats loaded with shooting equipment. For safety, everyone decided to stay back at the island overnight till the storm subsided. Next day, when the team returned to the main island, they heard the news about an accident where a boat overturned. Everyone was relieved that they had taken a wise decision.”
Sonal Chauhan who plays the role of Sheena in the film recalls the experience to be unnerving. She said, “It was the most unnerving experience of my life; the most thrilling and scariest situation I have ever faced. I was going for the last shot in a bikini and I suddenly started feeling cold. The atmosphere changed all of a sudden and it became worse after that. I would likem to thank my entire team for finishing the shoot bravely.”
Neil Nitin Mukesh added, “I’m happy that we all took the sensible decision of staying back at Mana. I would like to thank God for giving us courage to face the situation. Every time I hear Kaise Bataoon, my memories get refreshed. ”

But she is jealous that she could not even attend a single party.Explaining the reason she said “There were a lot of parties which used to take place practically every second night but then I couldn’t attend since I was shooting every day. It was really sad since I had to go back to bed by eight in the evening. So the time I went to sleep, these guys would start their parties. I was so jealous,” sighs Sonal.
Telling about her experience in the island she said “Yes, Fiji in general was a beautiful experience. I am a person who doesn’t like outdoor shoot much but for 3G I didn’t even realise how 45 days just went by. In fact I remember how they gave me a surprise on my birthday and came with a cake to my room when I was still in my gym clothes,” she remembers with a smile, “The whole cast and crew of the movie was very comfortable with each other. Aamir Khan nicknamed Rani Mukerji as ‘engine’

Aamir Khan has nicknamed his Ghulam co-star, Rani Mukerji as engine. It was Rani Mukerji who revealed this secret on the UTV Stars’ Yeh Hai Meri Kahaani.
It had all started on the sets of the movie Gulham, in 1998, where Rani was required to film a hugging scene with Aamir. Even after 3 attempts, they were not able to get the scene right and as a result Aamir decided that Rani must be called ‘engine’. While on the show, Rani Mukerji aslso shared her professional journey. She had apparently wanted to become a fashion designer but ended up as an actress. The episode featuring Rani will be on air on Saturday.
The duo also appeared in Talaash. Where Aamir Khan plays the role of a cop investigating the murder of a famous movie star and Rani Mukerji portrays the character of Aamir’s wife.
Meanwhile Aamir is busy being the villain in the next installment of Dhoom series. And well as for Rani, she is busy being Rani Mukerji and not Rani Chopra as Shatrughan Sinha once accidentally referred her as. Well we know there are no accidents in Bollywood.

Movie Review : Kai Po Che

Kai Po Che Movie Rating – 4/5
Kai Po Che has been one of the most awaited films this year. So if you ask , does it live up to its hype that it has created over the past few weeks. Then my answer is a definite yes.
The Story is similar to the plot in the book “3 mistakes of my life” though with a few changes.  It is a story of 3 friends Ishaan Bhatt, Omi Shastri and Govind who are trying to make a mark for themselves in Gujrat. They set up a sports academy and they come across an amazing talent who plays cricket awesomely.  Set in the exciting times of 2000’s, Rest of the story is about the implications on their lives and relationships by  real life incidents that happened in those  times like Godhra train incident, Gujrat riots and IND- AUS series.

The story is crisper and shorter when compared to the original story of book. First half of the movie is very casual and funny, it passes off like a breeze but the second half takes a sudden turn and goes into a very serious mode. If you read the book, then there is slight possibility that you may be a little disappointed towards the end. But none the less the performances of the actors and pace of the movie will keep you happy.
Abhishek Kapoor has done a great job, with the way he has handled the script and the way he has executed this whole film. He has come leaps and bounds from his last venture “Rock On”. Screenplay is very engaging at all times, never in the movie you feel left out. Music is very soothing but keeps you asking for more.  Background music by Hitesh Sonik deserves a special mention as the background music elevates the feel of the film to a whole new level. Performances wise there are no complains, each and every character has done theor role to perfection. Be it Shushanth’s Aggresion or Rajkumar Yadav’s resilience or Amit’s ignorance every frame is a treat to watch. Amrita as Shushant;s sister looks very endearing. But RajKumar Yadav’s performance is the one that shines through the most.
Grab your close friends and just go watch the movie.

Salman Khan to face challenge from Sunny Deol

Salman Khan has been delivering blockbusters consistently since past 4 years, most of his money spinners were released on eid. This made lot of producers back out from releasing films on eid and plan schedules accordingly.
But here comes the yesteryear’s superstar Sunny Deol who has been struggling to revive his blockbuster spree to compete with Salman Khan by releasing his upcoming movie Singh Sahab the Great on eid.
According to some reliable sources “Sunny is happy with the way the film has been shaping up. The drama and the action have brought so much confidence into the characters and Sunny feels Eid would be just the right date for the release.”
Sunny Deol said, “The film is based on a common man’s life and Eid is one of those holidays when the aam aadmi is in a much happier space. Since the significance of this festival is also interpreted as a good time to bring people together in harmony and gratitude, we are aiming for an Eid release.”
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is all set to remake Telugu super-hit “Stalin” which stars Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi. This will also be released on Eid to give stiff competition to Sunny Deol starrer.
When asked if he is scared of releasing it alongside Salman Khan’s movie, he said “The cinema business has changed. Since there are so many cinema halls, two big films can release at the same time. I am sure no one wants to take over anyone’s business.”
Looks like perfect competition is on the cards on the eve of eid.

Abhishek Bachchcan to star in Meerut Junction?

Abhishek Bachchan who is been playing urban and modern guy roles in all his movies recently, may go for a rustic look if the things fall into place. Atleast thats what director Anand Kumar is hoping for.
Director Anand Kumar whose film “Zila Ghaziabad” just released said that he has already started working for next venture “Meerut Junction” and wants to cast Abhishek Bachan in the lead role. He said that “I am almost ready with the script of my next film Meerut Junction. It is a very rural film and I want to cast Abhishek Bachchan in it. We are constantly in touch with him and even he has liked the script. If things fall in place, we will start rolling soon“.
When we asked why Abhishek Bachchan, Anand said “Abhishek is a wonderful actor and the role in Meerut Junction is a very rustic one, which we haven’t seen him playing. The character in the film would be similar to the role that Amitabh Bachchan played in Kaalia. So it would be apt to cast Abhishek in the film“.
We have to wait what Abhishek has to say about this. Still considering the way Zila Ghaziabad movie is , we are hoping for a better movie from Anand Kumar.

Movie Review : Zila Ghaziabad

Zila Ghaziabad Movie Rating – 2/5
Last 3 to 4 years has been the period of revival for ‘masala’ movies in Bollywood. Big stars like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar have pulled of blockbusters and spun money at the box-office despite their movies lacking strong content and logic. Now here is ZILA GHAZIABAD which falls into the same category.
zila ghaziabad
Let’s begin with the plot, Ghaziabad is known for its gang wars and violence but has been at peace since lot of years. However, Ghaziabad has two major gangs headed by paresh Rawal and Ravi Kissen who are at cold war, Arshad Warsi being the right hand of Paresh Rawal had to go against his own boss under the bad influence of Ravi Kissen and he kills Vivek Oberoi’s brother (Chandrachur Singh) in the process forcing Vivek Oberoi to take up the violence root and avenge his brother’s death. Here begins the new gang war and it is Sanjay Dutt’s job as newly appointed inspector of Ghaziabad to restore the peace for the rest of the film.
While watching Zila Ghaziabad all you can feel is Déjà vu where you will recall lot of Bollywood movies like Dabangg, Omkara, etc. First half hour of the movie is used to build the characters up in a hurry with poor emotional content and then the movie keeps on dragging. Second half is what director wanted to make interesting by introducing Sanjay Dutt but movie becomes boring and predictable. Climax is mediocre with people flying in the air.Having said that, movie has its moments which could be appreciated by mass audience especially some 1 liners and couple of fights, no comedy whatsoever though.
To keep the audience glued to the screen the director needs create strong characters with powerful dialogues blended with gripping screenplay. But director absolutely fails in doing so. In spite of having good actors like Sanjay Dutt, Vivek Oberoi, Arshad warsi director could not make those characters interesting at all, coming to the screenplay you can predict each and every scene that will follow and adding to the flaws emotional content was also very poor.
Coming to the actor performances, Arshad Warsi did justice to his character as the ugly guy who keeps on killing and easily gets influenced by others, Vivek Oberoi is decent as a good guy who is dragged into crime world unwantedly but nothing new compared to his previous movies, Sanjay Dutt’s character is what director wanted to rely on during the 2nd half but he was not that convincing and moreover his character resembles Salman khan in Dabangg series. Paresh Rawal and Ravi Kissen were decent; Charmme Kaur and Minisha Limba hardly had any screen time. Other characters are forgettable.
On whole, Zila Ghaziabad is a masala movie with nothing novel and is aimed at single screen crowd. It will not persist much long in the multiplexes for sure, we have to wait and see if it makes something out of B and C canters.

Arshad Warsi’s exciting upcoming movies

Arshad Warsi is busy promoting his new film “Jolly L.L.B.” which is releasing in March, is a happy man these days. On one hand he is shooting for a sequel to his super hit film Dedh Ishqiya, for which he is going to Lucknow, He was quoted saying”I will leave for Lucknow in the next two days to start the shooting for ‘Dedh Ishqiya’. It is a 40-day schedule and I am very excited about this film. It’s a great script and a wonderful story”.
On other hand he is promoting his upcoming release “Jolly L.L.B.” , which has already created a buzz as the movie apparently is a mockery on our judicial system. It is a satirical comedy drama film which also stars Amrita Rao and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.
They were reports surrounding that this film was inspired by a real life incident. Recently the director of the film, Shubhash Kapoor says, “Yes, it is true that I was inspired. I found it extremely funny when I came across the news report. When I read about this news in 2008, I found it to be extremely funny. In the opening sequence of our film, we introduce Arshad (as Jolly), a lawyer defending a boy in the court of law. It is part of a fun sequence.”
Looking at the kind of films that Arshad is doing, it seems that variety seems to be the spice of his life.

Aishwarya Rai speaks her mind about issue of women’s security

At the Zindagi Live Awards in New Delhi, Aishwarya Rai spoke about the security of women in India. The 39-year-old actress, also a mother of a one-year-old girl, says she is angry because a lot is being said but very little action is taken to rectify the situation.
Talking about the feeling of insecurity that a lot of women in India feel, Aish spoke her heart out. She said,
“I don’t feel fear, rather there is a lot of anger and I don’t hesitate to say this. Many of us are privileged to have a lot of assurance about our safety but most of the women in our country do not have that.”
The actress feels the offenders who have committed crimes against women should be punished severely.
“There should be definite laws for offenders. They should be punished immediately. That is when we will see the change in the society,” said Aishwarya Rai.
The actress is satisfied with the fact that people are making genuine efforts to come together and carrying out rallies and protest for a change in laws and attitudes towards crimes against women. Yet, she believes a lot more needs to be done so that women feel more secure in our country.

Salman Khan involved in a petty quarrel yet again

Salman Khan, who is always prone to conflicts off the screen, has lost his composure yet again and was involved in a petty quarrel with the organizers of Celebrity Cricket League in Hyderabad on Tuesday . But this time Salman had a genuine reason to be upset with the CCL organizers because they have not provided him enough security while heading back to the hotel.
The Dabangg star, after the match between Veer Maratha and Mumbai Heroes was heading back to hotel, before getting into the car at the stadium there were around 30 bikers waiting for him to show up and eventually they followed him up all the way to his hotel and also misbehaved by banging the car windows en route to grab his attention and allegedly used foul language on him.
However, Salman was majorly upset with the security because the stalkers have injured 2 policemen and 3 CCL members in the process. He felt that organizers took things pretty much for granted in terms of security.
But, Salman moved on from the issue easily as he always does and attended the post-match party with other celebrities.
Intentionally or unintentionally Salman Khan has always been in the news in the recent past which is also making him even more popular. We may call this “blessing in disgrace”!

Akshay Kumar wants to take philanthropy to the next level

Akshay Kumar, who just became 1st ever Indian actor to cross 2000 crores with his movies, now wants to take philanthropy to the next level.
Akshay who is a brilliant martial artist is fed up with cricket’s monopoly in India and wants to encourage kids from poor families who have diverse talents. Talking about cricket, he said “Cricket… I am just damn tired of it! I want something else coming out of this country. I just want it to happen. Support these families, their children are made of something which can get us gold medals at Olympics “.
If all the corporates support four to five families and give them all the money they need, I think we can come up with gold medals,” he adds.
Akshay made a significant revelation saying “I support three families whose children are eight to nine years old. I support them completely — their father, mother, everything, so that they can come up in the sports field. The children are very interested in sports, so they can come up and become great sports persons”.
As Akshay said, if some of the top most corporates support some underprivileged families to nurture their kids, then who knows, they might emerge as potential Olympic Gold medal winners in the future.

Alia Bhatt wishes to act in a horror movie

Bollywood baby Alia Bhatt made her debut with a youth-oriented film titled Student Of The Year. Now, looks like baby Alia has grown up. The newbie is very keen on featuring in a horror flick. In fact, the actress herself said that she would love to be a part of the Murder or Raaz franchise in future.
The 19-years-old spoke at the screening of Murder 3. She said,“In these thrillers and scary movies, it is very difficult to portray (the role), to always look scared… and you know, (be) in that tense zone. So, I would love to do a film (like that). If ‘Murder 4′ or ‘Raaz 4′ happen, I would love to do it.”
Directed by Alia’s cousin, Vishesh Bhatt and produced by her father, Mahesh Bhatt, Murder 3 stars Aditi RaoHydari, Randeep Hooda and Sara Loren in the lead roles. Vishesh Bhatt debuted as the director of the film, which hit theaters on Feb 15.

Shahid Kapoor returns with Kaminey 2

Vishal Bharadwaj was very keen on casting Imran Khan as the lead actor in Kaminey 2, as he thought Imran was a crowd puller. However, after his last disastrous flick Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mondala, Vishal changed his mind. Now, the director is ready to retain the original actor Shahid Kapoor in the sequel of the film.
The filmmaker was asked to confirm the hero of the film ‘Kaminey 2′, to which he said,“Certainly, certainly it will be Shahid Kapoor.”
During the promotions of ‘Matru Ki Bijli ka Mandola’, buzz were doing rounds that Imran Khan was confirmed as the main lead in Kaminey 2.
Imran Khan said, “If the story is good, I would really love to do it. I have seriously enjoyed working with Vishal in his movies. I would love to do another film with him, having said that, I would like to be honest and tell you that we haven’t really spoken about working together in ‘Kaminey 2′. If he would like to work with me, I am happy to work with him.”
However, Vishal rubbished all such rumors saying Imran Khan was never considered for the role and that Shahid was always on his mind to play the lead.
“It is not true at all that Imran was considered. Like most rumours, this one is also not true,” says Vishal.
Kaminey was a super hit and so, Shahid does have a genuine claim to do the sequel as well.

Murder 3 Review

Murder 3 Movie Review by Indicine critic Joginder Tuteja
‘These guys indeed know how to tell a murderous tale’ – That’s what one ends up exclaiming the moment last shot of Murder 3 is seen on screen. A thoroughly engaging affair that makes you nod in agreement with the choice of subject that first timer Vishesh Bhatt has made for his directorial outing, the film not just lives up to the huge expectations that one has from the Murder franchise, it also makes one think of the kind of ideas that time and again get a green signal from the Bhatt camp. No wonder, Murder 3 entertains, shocks and makes you rub your eyes in disbelief as the drama unfolds.
However before one starts believing that all is perfectly well with Murder 3, here is an observation. The film comes on it’s own only in the second half. In fact the entire first hour of the film, if seen in isolation without stepping into the second hour, ‘seems’ plain ordinary. Yes, once the second hour starts unfolding, everything about the hour gone by starts making sense. In fact, a lot of sense! However for that, one has to be really patient till the interval card flashes.

This means right from the opening shot where Aditi Rao Hydari disappears from the scene to the instant love that develops between Randeep Hooda and Sara Loren to the police investigation – just about everything appears not just haphazard but even half baked. (Spoilers ahead) It is just impossible to believe the manner in which Randeep and Sara come together or the latter turning out to be dumb enough to follow him or the mysterious ways in which Randeep talks or a distracting angle about a cop expressing his feelings for Sara. Frankly, after a point there is a sense of disengagement that starts setting in. Of course there are spooky moments thrown in between which leads to some level of intrigue but then constant flip-flop in proceedings tends to make one a little impatient.
However the turnaround takes place a few minutes into the second half, and how. The twist in the tale is amazingly established and the 40 minutes that follow bring the film into third, fourth and the fifth gear with the kind of fervour that one was waiting for all this while. Really, it is one of the best second halfs to have come out of a Bollywood film. Of course the storyline is an official adaptation of a Spanish film but that doesn’t matter at all as Vishesh along with his team of technicians makes sure that the tension continues to build with every passing minute before a double twist in the tale during the penultimate moments make Murder 3 the kind of film that is unique indeed.
Aditi Rao Hydari stands tall in this show that actually belongs to her, regardless of her actual presence or absence on the scene. She gets the emotions right, whether in the vulnerable or romantic junctures of the film. Not just that as the kind of subtle humour that she brings on screen is a treat that makes one smile even in the moments that could have otherwise become too heavy. Randeep Hooda plays his part well though one wonders why his character had to sound so mystereious in the very first place. He gets it right though as an actor who can be entrusted for a lead role. Sara Loren is truly attractive and plays her part well in a role that requires her to bring different shades. In fact at places she also reminds one of the kind of characterisation that Bipasha Basu had in Raaz.
The film carries a polished look throughout though editing seems a little jerky in the first half. Music, though pleasant indeed, seems like a distraction and one wouldn’t have minded had this been a songless affair. Background music by Bhatt regular Raju Singh is fantastic though and aids the film’s narrative in a big way, especially the second half.
A big win for the franchise comes from the fact that it presents a cocktail of drama, emotions, horror and (of course) erotica really well, hence making Murder 3 yet another good film to be unleashed by Bollywood this year. Moreover, after one is through watching the film, even the first half starts sounding a lot more enjoyable as you connect the dots. In the times when there are films that claim to tell a story from ‘two different point of views’ and hardly end up making an imprssion, Murder 3 is a case study on how it is actually done while taking the audience in confidence and not taking their intelligence for granted.
At the box office the film has started on a slow note which is surprising since as a franchise, Murder holds a good recall value. However due to it’s inherent merits, it may pick up during the weekend. There is continued competition from Special 26 as well as ABCD but controlled costs should bring Murder 3 past the safety mark.
Go for it.
